Congregational Minister

Worship

Worship is the heart and hearth of our congregational life. It is also the practice at the center of my call to ministry. I have a breadth and depth of experience leading worship in our congregations, on college campuses, online, at UU camps and conferences, and in interfaith settings. Milestone Ceremonies

It is a great privilege to minister to congregants of all ages and people in the wider community during rites of passage and milestone ceremonies. As a lifelong UU, I appreciate deeply the role we play in members’ lives at these important moments. You can learn more about this aspect of my ministry by clicking the Read More button below.

Religious Education

I am committed to a vision of Unitarian Universalism as a lifelong and multigenerational faith and our congregations as communities of learners. I enjoy learning a great deal myself and my enthusiasm for it is often contagious for children, youth, and adults. I view the partnership between me and the primary religious educator in a congregation as of the utmost significance. You can learn more by clicking Read More below.

Pastoral Care

As a minister, I offer pastoral care and spiritual direction through my sermons and writings, as well as through pastoral appointments and hospital visits. In a large congregation, the minister is part of a Caring Team alongside others (lay-leaders and/or ministers). You can learn more about my pastoral ministry by clicking Read More.

Organizational Development & Administration

I am a builder of institutions. As head of staff, I supervise staff colleagues and volunteers on the administrative and programmatic side of congregational life. I have also served in the leadership of nonprofits and start ups. These experiences deepen my knowledge of what it takes to sustain and grow an organization towards health. Communications

A significant portion of ministry includes written communications and publications beyond sermons – articles, columns, letters, social media posts, meditations/prayers, etc. During the pandemic, I have written a weekly e-mail pastoral message to the congregation sent via Constant Contact and Facebook. "Teach me that I am mortal, So that I may not squander this day. Teach me that I am interdependent, So that I may ask for help when I need it. Teach me that I am made for love, So that I may show up when others are in need. Teach me that I am made for hope, So that I may reach for what once seemed impossible. Teach me that I am made for now, So that I may give away all that I am and never hold back."
